Individual Counseling

As a therapist, my goals are to help you to know and better understand yourself, to identify and grow your support systems and resources, to heal, to achieve clarity, to develop increased mechanisms for self-advocacy and self-efficacy, to uncover your true potential, to increase your sense of connection to yourself and others, and to find the answers you need to take your life in the direction you want.

Using the therapeutic approaches that best fit your individual needs, we will work together to help you process trauma experiences or grief, reduce discomfort/challenging symptoms, better understand your needs, and identify unwanted behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Learning to understand ourselves and how we have been and continue to be affected by the greater contexts within which we operate is one of the keys to personal well-being and optimal functioning (e.g. communites, families, intersecting identity frameworks, and often oppressive systems and structures). Together we will explore your situation in order to help you understand yourself and your circumstances more clearly, and to determine what types of interventions will be most effective for bringing you the outcomes you seek.

You, yourself, as much as anybody
in the entire universe,
deserve your love and affection.

I take an integrative approach to psychotherapy, which means that I find truth and value in several different psychological

foundations that are generally rooted in the Psychodynamic, Attachment, and Systems Theory models.

I utilize a variety of evidence-based therapeutic strategies in my work, including:

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR.

I am professionally and personally devoted to issues of equity and justice, which have guided my

ongoing professional development in multiculturalism and systems theory.
